Life. It’s one continuous challenge.
Not every day is perfect. There will be ups and there will definitely be downs.
There will be days when things don’t go to plan or something unexpected happens that throws you off course. The important thing is that you dust yourself off and get back on the rollercoaster.
I keep a close eye on the weather most days so that I can plan my bike rides accordingly. Now that I am in my 40’s the last thing I want to do is ride around and have wet feet and a wet bum for 2 hours… I’m a lot smarter than that these days… wisdom comes with age I guess!
The weather forecast appeared to be dry so I went out. For the most part, it was… until about 20 mins from the end.
The rain was torrential and cold. I got soaked! Then I had to drive home in my wet gear for 30 mins…it wasn’t pleasant. I’m just glad that I didn’t break down!
Anyway, my point is not everything goes to plan. In life and weight loss, you have to accept this. Don’t beat yourself up, fall of the rails and give up. You just need to dust yourself off and get back on it.
Here’s my 3 reasons to keep going:
1 – life will always through a curveball – it’s ok to fall off the wagon. Weight loss, and ultimately, maintenance is a life choice. Dust yourself off and get back on it.
2 – there is usually blue sky around the corner – it may be tough at the time but getting through your workout or restarting your calorie counting will ultimately pay off.
3 – it gets easier to get back on track – it may be tough at times but the more you practice getting back on track the easier it gets… I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve veered off the path (defo every Christmas) but ultimately it doesn’t last for very long.
I went out and got drenched!
I was cold and miserable. I got through it. Although the weather didn’t really improve massively, my blue sky was the calorie deficit I had to make the most of the pulled pork that had been slowly cooking on the BBQ all day and a well deserved beer! 🤤🤤🤤🍻
